This respirator takes n95 filters, they look like white colored felt pads, the part number is 5N11. 3M has a special filter adapter(part no. 502) that you can buy to use the N95 pads separately from a filter can.

If you get enough supplies of the 5N11 pads it’s a very good option. They are cheaper than N95 face masks. Only downside is that you need to be very careful in handling potentially contaminated respirator outer surfaces. It is advisable to clean it thoroughly after each use.
