Lots of reports in North America about COVID affecting younger people. In Canada we have widespread testing - much of Canada in voluntary isolation already - and we are at the beginning of the curve here. In many ways, ahead of the UK in implementing emergency measures (to compare countries with universal healthcare). It will be bad - but Canadians have a “look out for your neighbour” approach to healthcare. We also have the experience of SARS hitting us HARD. Our health system isn’t perfect but my bets are placed that we will go down as responding in both a prepared and compassionate way. I’m not smug - but hopeful. Wish us luck!
